High bandwidth limitation

Description

WebRTC stats “complained” about the need to limit and lower the video encoder’s target bitrate due to low availability of bandwidth.

This occurs when the network bandwidth estimation is lower than the target bitrate of the encoder. In such a case, the encoder will be further limited by what is expected on the network.

There is not much you can do about this when it comes to application logic. Mainly, notify the user that there are network issues affecting his experience.

What do we do here?

When we notice high bandwidth limitations enforced on the video encoder for more than 5% percent we mark this as an Observation.
